22nd April 2026
London Members' Dinner
The Growth Foundation
Women in Logistics were delighted to be hosted by The Growth Foundation for an engaging evening of networking and insight in central London, organised by Emma Green and led by Richard Chapple.
Drawing on his experience helping scale Gymshark into a global brand, Richard shared a clear and practical framework for sustainable business growth. He explored a common imbalance in high-growth companies: while many achieve strong product-market fit, they often struggle to scale because operational resilience, systems, and talent development lag behind. Left unaddressed, these gaps can ultimately limit long-term success.
Richard brought this to life through a simple but powerful model built around two key questions: “Where to play?” and “How to win?”- defining both strategic focus (markets, customers, channels) and how an organisation operates to deliver results. He emphasised that success depends not only on making the right strategic choices, but on building the capability to execute them consistently and at scale.
The session sparked thoughtful discussion among attendees, with clear relevance for logistics professionals navigating growth, transformation, and leadership challenges in increasingly complex environments.
A sincere thank you to the Growth Foundation team for hosting such a valuable and enjoyable evening.

International Women's Day at Fortnum & Mason
London
On Monday 9th March, 25 members of Women in Logistics UK gathered at Fortnum & Mason in central London to celebrate International Women’s Day in style. The event offered a welcome change of pace - an opportunity to step away from high-visibility jackets and safety boots and immerse ourselves in the elegant surroundings of one of London’s most iconic department stores.
Guests were welcomed with English sparkling wine, followed by a selection of exquisite canapés, freshly prepared before our eyes. We were delighted to hear from Logistics Manager Orla McMahon, who shared her inspiring career journey and provided fascinating insight into how Fortnum & Mason successfully navigates its uniquely constrained delivery challenge - operating with just a single pallet space.
The event was expertly hosted by our own Sophie Damaglou and concluded with our much-loved Women in Logistics speed networking session - where energy levels, conversation, and new connections were all exceptional.

26-28th February 2026
Women in Logistics Professional Development Retreat
Ramshorn Estate, Staffordshire

A two-night luxury countryside retreat that brought together women in the logistics industry for a unique experience focused on personal growth, leadership insight and meaningful connection.
As one attendee, Lisa Christie, reflected: “When we were asked what we wanted to gain from the retreat, the answers were unanimous: a space to reset, connect and learn. Our aim was to honour the true meaning of the word ‘retreat’ - to step away from the pace of everyday life and create our own space for reflection and growth.”
And that is exactly what attendees did. Set in beautiful countryside surroundings, they were able to recharge at their own pace whilst enjoying great company, excellent food and plentiful moments of relaxation - from hot tubs to evening cocktails - before immersing themselves in a thoughtfully-curated programme of sessions.
Through interactive workshops with inspiring speakers, peer mastermind sessions and leadership clinics, participants gained practical tools to build confidence, strengthen their governance capabilities and elevate their personal brands. Open and honest conversations allowed attendees to share real business challenges and leadership experiences, drawing on the collective insight and support of the group.
Lisa continues: “We went to bed each night with our minds fizzing with new ideas, and the experience didn’t end when the retreat did. Since returning, we’ve continued to connect and share, building on the ideas we explored and putting them into action in our work across the logistics sector. I feel refreshed and brimming with motivation! It’s a special thing to begin a retreat as strangers and leave feeling like you’ve known each other for years.”
The retreat proved to be far more than a brief escape from the day-to-day - it created lasting connections, fresh perspectives on the logistics industry, and renewed confidence. Thank you to everyone who attended, to Ruth and Clare for cultivating such a fantastic environment for growth, and to Sue for empowering attendees to look both inwards and outwards.
